At our first Annual Meeting at St. Vincent
Hospital, the members and guests of the Worcester
Guild heard Professor Patrick Derr of Clark
University give an inspiring presentation, "The
Oath of Hippocrates." Prof. Derr is a member of
the faculty at Clark University in the Department
of Philosophy.
In 1995, Prof. Derr, along with other prominent Catholic ethicists and physicians drafted a restatement of the traditional Oath of Hippocrates. Following Prof. Derr’s talk, members and guests had the opportunity to take the Oath.

October 16th, 2008 Annual Meeting/White Mass
The evening concluded with the White Mass for
Health Care Professionals in Our Lady of
Providence Chapel with Bishop Robert McManus as
celebrant. Guild member, Dr. James Walsh was one
of the award recipients at the Mass. Following
the White Mass the Worcester Guild was awarded a
grant of $1,000 to further its work from the St.
Vincent Foundation.
