Problem Pregnancy of Worcester
Problem Pregnancy, now located at 495 Pleasant Street, started in 1982 when Planned Parenthood expanded to Worcester. They are located across the street from Planned Parenthood which just completed a new $5 million fortress-like building on Pleasant Street. “We are the oldest and most successful, frontline, pregnancy center in Massachusetts. Unfortunately we have not vanquished the abortionists in Worcester. Planned Parenthood kills about 3,100 babies and we save over 200 each year. We have a lot further to go, but we fight for each life on the abortion frontline. We actually save babies. The model that we use I call CPC-Plus, a pregnancy resource center with sidewalk counseling program. It is the only way to save large numbers of babies.”
Problem Pregnancy is an all-volunteer operation. They bought a $25,000 ultrasound in 2001 so pregnant women can see their unborn baby. In addition to education and counseling, Problem Pregnancy provides real practical help to pregnant mothers so that women in crisis are truly free to choose life, help like paying rent for a client, child care, buying a car, even paying for a wedding. Women needing residential help and support are referred to Visitation House, a home for women with crisis pregnancies on Endicott Street in Worcester.
Planned Parenthood’s Expansion
Planned Parenthood, located at 470 Pleasant Street in Worcester, is the major site of abortions in central Massachusetts. They are in the process of a major expansion, attempting to established satellite family planning clinics throughout the area, which will act as feeder clinics for the abortion mill in Worcester. Several clinics will operate in the city of Worcester. New clinics are now open in Milford and Marlborough. Later this year a clinic may open in Fitchburg despite strong opposition from the pro-life community. Next year clinics are planned for Gardner, Framingham and Southbridge. This expansion of Planned Parenthood is being funded by federal Title X family planning grants ($779,074 for 2010 alone). Dr. Mark Rollo, president of the Worcester Guild, has been very active with a group in Fitchburg trying to stop the expansion into that city.
